Join the women of APC for a day-long retreat where we can explore what it would be like to have an entirely new wardrobe---never tired or worn, never out of style, always a perfect fit.  Rev. Maryellen Hittel will teach us how to dress up in garments of faith for the grace-filled life. She will be guided by the words in Colossians 3:12-17:  "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect harmony."

 

Reverend Maryellen Hittel has served at Rockmart Presbyterian Church since 2006. Prior to entering full-time ministry, Maryellen was a stay at home mother and an active member of her community. She is married to Dr. Glenn P. Hittel of Cartersville and recently they celebrated 25 years of learning together. They have 3 daughters. Throughout her life she has felt God's hand guide and direct her in ministry wherever she was. Because God graces us with life abundant, Maryellen affirms that to live with gratitude and openness to God in all of life is one of her goals. Maryellen has led several women's retreats and one former participant said her message resonated so strongly with the retreat women that they did not want to leave!

Date: Saturday only-------March 6, 2010 from 9:00 am - 6:30 pm.

Child Care: Childcare will not be available at APC or at Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church, but we can suggest names from a childcare provider list.

Cost: $40.00 (which will include morning snacks, lunch and dinner).

If God is calling you to attend but finances are tight, financial scholarships are available. Indicate on the registration form if you are interested in receiving one of these scholarships. Activities:  In addition to our guest speaker. activities will include a nature walk, a Tai Chi class, a communion service with a small choir, service projects and a special presentation on the work our church does in Haiti.  Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to participate in the women's choir (you will have one or two rehearsals prior to the retreat).

Register: Complete the online registration form (see link above) and take (or mail) your check to the church office. Make checks payable to Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. Please indicate “2010 Women's Retreat” on the memo line. You will receive a confirmation on your registration.
Registration and fee are due no later than February 21, 2010

Transportation:  Carpooling will be available. Indicate on the registration form if  you are interested in being a carpool driver, or if you would like a ride.

     - Go north on GA 400 and take exit 17 for GA-306 toward Gainesville.

     - Go .3 mile and turn right at GA 306 E/Keith Bridge Rd

     - Go 1 mile and turn right at Browns Bridge Rd/GA 369 E

     - Go .9 mile. Slight right at Shady Grove Rd.

     - Go 3 miles. Turn right at Lanier Drive.

     - Go .5 mile. Church will be on the right.
