Joel Lillethun, Director of Music Ministries
A native of Wisconsin, Joel earned a bachelor's in music education from Indiana University and a master of fine arts in choral conducting from the University of Minnesota.  He has taught music at the high school level in Minneapolis and in Georgia and has served churches in both Minnesota and Georgia.
Sam De Carlo, Organist
Sam is a native of suburban Detroit.  He began learning piano at the young age of 5.  He branched into organ and church music studies in high school and continued through college, studying with some of the best organists and church musicians in the country who resided in the Detroit area.  Sam is a graduate of Oakland University (Rochester, MI) with a degree in Education and Church Music Administration.  Before joining the staff of Alpharetta Presbyterian, Sam has served churches in many capacities over the last 10 years.  Most recently as Senior Organist and Concert Series coordinator at First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City after having served 5 years as a music assistant at Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a mega-church in suburban Detroit.  He continues to perform at numerous Christian conferences and conventions around the country, most recently in Detroit, Chicago, Nashville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta.  Sam believes that the role of the Church is to empower and inspire each person who walks through the door with the message of the Gospel.  He strives to communicate this message through inspirational songs and hymn improvisation.
Kathy Ailts, Director of Children's Ministry
Kathy joined our staff in the fall of 2011.  She moved with her family from Minnesota to Georgia six years ago.  Kathy has a master’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and a B.A. in elementary education from Luther College.  She has served as a school teacher and counselor in public and private schools, and brings to APC her experience as a Sunday School Superintendent for her past congregation.  Kathy and her husband, Scott, have two young adult children.  She enjoys gardening, reading, and the outdoors.

Kelly Edwards, Director of Youth Ministries
Kelly has over twenty years of experience as a youth director. She and her husband, Alex, live in Cumming with their three children. Kelly is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her BA in adolescent psychology from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia.
Kelly is responsible for all of Youth Ministry including Christian education, confirmands, Youth Group and mission trips.
Carol Sweet, Administrative Assistant
Carol has been with APC for ten years. Originally from Syracuse, NY, she graduated from SUNY Potsdam in upstate NY with an art history/art studio degree. She has three, young adult children. Carol's office duties include managing the phones, mail, supplies, the weekly bulletin and e-newsletter, as well as any special publications. She maintains multiple databases including the membership data base.
Susan Schiltz, Finance Manager
Susan has been with APC for 16 years.  Originally from Rome, GA, she attended  Furman University and Georgia State University.  Her husband Nick, as well as their two sons (Randy and Brian) and their families are all members of APC.  They also have a daughter (Terry) who lives in Colorado.  Susan handles all matters related to the income and expenses of the church as well as the APC Dayschool.  This includes maintaining all contribution records for the congregation.
Chuck Watson, Property Manager
Chuck joined our staff in September 2007.  With a background in engineering, he has worked in facilities and property management for over 16 years.  Chuck, his wife, and their two daughters are native to the area.  He loves Georgia Tech football (go Jackets!) and plays golf when time permits.
 
Pat Rea, Office Assistant
Pat is originally from Eufaula, AL where she attended Auburn University. Pat previously worked for the APC Dayschool for 13 years as both a teacher and the secretary. Pat and her husband Ed have three adult children and three grandsons. Pat assists both Carol and Susan with a number of office duties including printing and preparing all worship bulletins, special mailings, special printings, cleaning and preparing the sanctuary for Sundays and specials services, keeping attendance records and maintaining workroom equipment.
