Jesus calls us to help the less fortunate. APC is committed to sharing God's love wherever we find His children in need.  We provide financial, material, and volunteer support locally, nationally, and internationally. Our numerous outreach partnerships reflect the many different interests, cares and concerns of our members.

APC Mission Values Statement 

APC values Jesus' call to love our neighbors. The Mission Committee responds by offering numerous outreach ministries to those in need. These varied ministries offer everyone opportunities to serve.


 
 

 

 

Angel Tree

The angel ornaments that adorn this holiday tree list the Christmas wishes of local needy children. APC members choose an "angel" and fulfill the request shown.  Additional donation opportunities are available to help offset utility bills or to make large donations of furniture or electronic equipment.  The gifts benefit may of our mission programs.

The Drake House

This halfway facility offers emergency shelter for women and their children.  Residents are also provided job-search, budgeting, and child-care assistance.  APC furnishes, supplies and maintains an apartment in this complex supported by several area churches.

Foster Care Support Foundation

This facility solicits donations of clothing and child care equipment and serves as a shop for parents to lighten the financial burden of foster parenting.

La Gonave, Haiti

APC members give generously to support healthcare initiatives in La Gonave.  Part of the mission tithe pays for training community health workers.  We also send infant clothing to support prenatal outreach to pregnant women.

Heifer International

With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer International helps improvished families in the developing world improve their nutrition and generate sustainable income.  APC members may purchase an animal or contribute toward one.

North Fulton Community Charities

NFCC is a broad-based non-profit charity in our area.  This organization stocks food and clothing banks and a thrift shop.  It also offers job and housing search assistance.  APC holds regular donation drives, and volunteer opportunities abound.

Open Door Community

An Atlanta social service agency which serves the homeless and the incarcerated, the ODC offers lunch, provides showers and clothing, staffs a free medical clinic and conducts worship services.  APC supports this ministry with regular donation drives.

The Place of Forsyth

The Place is a social services organization serving the Forsyth County area.  They focus on core survival needs such as a food, clothing, and emergency help.  APC holds regular donation drives and helps direct volunteers.

Presbyterian Offerings

To support the church universal, our congregation participates in three annual PCUSA offerings:  One Great Hour of Sharing, the Mother’s Day Offering and the Joy Offering.  APC also supports the Presbyterian Theological Educational Fund and has directly supported seminarians.

Whiz Kids

Volunteers in our after-school tutoring program work individually young children deficient in math and reading skills.  Local schools select the children who might benefit, and APC tutors provide the love and support, boosting skills and self confidence. Tutors meet with the same child one hour each week from October thru April. Volunteers may chose from two Monday sessions - in the APC Fellowship Hall for Manning Oaks students from 3:15 – 4:15 PM or from 6:15 – 7:15 PM at Mimosa Elementary.
