APC Sunday School Classes for Middle and High School Students
At APC, Christian education is a core component of our faith from the time children are in preschool.  We believe that worship on Sunday morning should include more than an hour in the sanctuary; it should also include time to look more closely at God's word and discuss it with others in a classroom setting.

We provide learning opportunities for all middle and high school students that will help them grow in their faith and  understanding of scripture.  Our church uses the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible for worship, and we encourage all who attend Sunday school classes to bring a Bible with them.

Many of our students use the NRSV Student Study Bible.  If you do not have a bible of your own, we have many to lend, or you can purchase one on Amazon.com.
6th & 7th Grade Sunday School ~ Meets in the APC Youth Lounge 9:45 -10:45am
As our middle school students ascend from a children's learning environment to a more sophisticated approach to Bible study, our weekly class helps them engage each other in interpreting scripture.  The class also prepares them for their 8th grade confirmation year.  Our study curriculum is from Spice Rack.

The adult leaders during the 2011-12 school year are Greg Raabe, Alex Edwards and Deb Carter.
8th Grade Sunday School Confirmation Class ~ Meets in Room 206/207 9:45 - 10:45am
The 8th grade year in the life of our church is one of challenging work and milestones.  Students participate in a journey to confirmation, where they will officially join as adult members of our church.

The curriculum and the adult leaders will challenge students and prepare them for active church membership.  We prepare them through weekly study, two off-site retreats, and one-on-one relationships with  adult mentors.

APC uses the We Believe curriculum, designed specifically for adolescent students' preparation for church membership.  Professing Our Faith: A Confirmation Curriculum presents the biblical foundations and theology of the Apostle's Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord's Prayer. Additionally, Professing Our Faith invites young people to explore the meaning of their baptism and their participation at the Lord's Supper, as well as church polity, stewardship, spiritual practices, worship and mission.

Participants are encouraged to expand their faith experiences through involvement in the APC Youth Group and its activities and outreach programs.

During the class, students will prepare expressions of their personal faith journey, eventually meeting with the Session before being invited to join the church.

Adult leaders of the Confirmation Class of 2012 are John Shevlin, Lisa McKemey and Mike Bybee.

9th - 12th Grade Sunday School ~ Meets in Room 209 9:45 - 10:45am
Our High School Class connects Bible lessons with the daily activities of maturing young people  This class also uses the Spice Rack curriculum for study.

We have a diverse group of students, representing many of the schools in North Fulton.  Our students come to us with a broad spectrum of spiritual interests and multiple points of view about scriptural interpretation.  This makes for lively and educational discussions each week.    Our goal is to nurture youth toward mature Christian lives by providing them with ample opportunity to engage and challenge each other and the adult leaders.

The adult leaders for the High School Class of 2011-12 are Dave Carter, Chris Young and Phil Busman.
