Presbyterian 101

The Presbyterian Church is governed by the Book of Order and the Book of Confessions.  Together, these make up the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The Book of Order states that the Great Ends of the Church are:
  1. The proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind
  2. The shelter, nurture and spiritual fellowship of the children of God
  3. The maintenance of divine worship
  4. The preservation of the truth
  5. The promotion of social righteousness
  6. The exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world
Presbyterians believe salvation is assured through faith in Jesus Christ.  Strengthened by this faith and modeling Jesus' example of love for all, they believe God calls them to serve others.  They study the Bible to discern whom God calls them to be.  

Alpharetta Presbyterian Church is home to a thriving congregation, engaged in disciplined Christian education and Bible study and dedicated to using our faith and resources to serve God's kingdom.
